Custom Color Services
At The Hair Loft our stylists are highly skilled in many different coloring techniques. We are known for our expertise in several techniques including Balayage highlights and Ombré which both produce stunning and beautiful results.
Hollywood color trends set the stage for the rest of the world and defy the misconception that highlights are just for blondes. Highlights are so versatile and flattering on all our clients whether their natural shade is a platinum blonde or a dark brunette. Hair color is very emotional-people want to be happy and carefree and they want their hair to reflect that. Adding fine highlights to a brunette or sneaking in a few Balayage pieces can make you feel like a different person and add a huge boost of confidence.
Balayage hair color is a highly sought after and specialized process of creating highlights. Consistency is key when achieving the Balayage look including product texture, product placement and in short, fluid brush strokes. The Balayage technique is really versatile, and works on any hair color, no matter how light or dark.
Balayage takes a visual approach to create your desired look. Unlike the use of foils to separate hair that is lightened, Balayage uses a special type of lightener that is painted on the hair by hand. The color is applied using a sweeping paint stroke method to achieve a natural sunkissed effect. Balayage can be customized to be more dramatic and have more dimension depending on the desired result.
Ombré Hair Color
The Ombré hair coloring technique has taken the hair color world by storm. Be it major celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron, Amanda Peet, Lily Aldridge, Victoria’s Secret models or the girl next door, everyone’s getting in on the action of this awesome hair coloring trend.
There are two types of Ombré including both traditional and reverse gradation of color. The traditional Ombré has a lighter color at the tips of your hair than at the roots, while a reverse Ombré has darker tips and lighter roots.
You should avoid choosing a color that is drastically different from your own, unless you have long hair which gives you the necessary length to fade the two colors into each other. The more subtle the color change, the more natural and sun-kissed your hair will appear. At The Hair Loft we recommend all-natural Color. Me dyes by Kevin Murphy that will be less damaging to your hair.
Today’s Ombré tends to appear more natural than previous seasons, with the choice for the ends often being only two tones lighter. Brunettes look especially flattering in so called Ombré looks with a less drastic change of color, such as medium brown and honey hues blended with dark brown roots. Blondes with cool skin undertone seem extremely charming with natural beige fading into icy blonds up to almost silvery shades.
The choice of colors for Ombré is, certainly, determined by your skin undertone and, to some extent, your natural hair hue. Women with cooler skin undertones, paired with medium brown hair color, may decide on icy brown and cool chestnuts. Redheads with warm skin tones look pretty awesome with peachy and golden Ombré shades. Another spin on Ombré still offers bolder glamorous solutions, and more contrasting shades when you are going from very dark to very light.
Flamboyage is an innovative coloring technique that gives the hair depth, natural looking and brighter results without the re-growth effect. Flamboyage enhances natural colors and blends. Perfect for lightening or darkening the hair. The technique is actually done using a tool called Flamboyage Meche paper. There are no foils used. The results are beautiful. It’s a new way to experience color and we are excited to add this service to our list of color services at The Hair Loft.

Q. Are tape hair extensions Human Hair?
A. Tape hair extensions are 100% remy human hair. This means the cuticle is still intact and the hair is arranged in the same direction, preventing matting and tangling.
Q. How long do tape hair extensions last?
A. Tape hair extensions last 8-10 weeks depending on the rate your hair grows, climate, hot tools exposure, etc. The hair can be re-applied up to 3 times.
Q. Can you create custom colors?
A. Yes. There are 22 colors that can be mixed and matched to create up to 400 different color combinations.
Q. Can you Iron, Curl or Blow Dry the extension Hair?
A. Hot tools are perfectly compatible with tape hair extensions. The most heat exposure they have however, the sooner you will need to order new hair as the condition of the hair will slowly decline. It is not advised to concentrate any amount of heat directly on the bonds/ tape tabs as they will weaken.
Q. What kind of products can be used in the hair?
A. You can use almost any product you would like in your new hair. Sulphate free shampoos are recommended to prevent the extension hair from fading. Conditioners are fine but are not to be applied to the scalp or near the bonds to avoid separation. Any products that contain alcohol, oil or ethanol are to be avoided around the bonds as well.
Q. Can roots be retouched while extensions are in the hair?
A. Yes, however it is highly recommended that any color or root touch ups be performed by a stylist to ensure the integrity of the bonds in the process.
